Another One

Another One was originally produced and recorded by Chena Kovax while laying on her couch in Queens, NY. Using Garageband and an iPhone mic, its original take was inspired by yet another break up; something that often inspires Chena to create, as she notes in the lyrics, “I guess I’ll write another song…” 

Having met and become friends at Soul in The Horn where L3NI has been a head producer and resident DJ and Chena a patron and performer for years, Chena and L3NI finally got into L3NI’s studio together in Brooklyn, New York. Playing around they started with a track Chena had made on her phone. She had posted it on Soundcloud years before but its lo-fi  underproduced sound didn't garner many listens. L3NI took the Madonna-inspired farewell to love anthem and flipped it, as she has done with many classic house records and other artist tracks; bringing a whole new energy and vibe to the process of letting go. After locking in a new groove, Chena simplified and re-recorded the vocals, with L3NI co-producing and engineering the new edit. 

The duo partnered with the Philadelphia-based musician and producer, 

Marty Gottlieb-Hollis to mix and master the record into a dreamy escape that captures the ennui of love that lingers like salt on the summer breeze of a seashore.
